Admission Lottery
Elysian Charter School is a free, public charter school that is open to all. Admission is based on a lottery that is held each January at 1460 Garden Street, Hoboken, to determine admission for the upcoming school year.
Lottery

All families MUST submit a lottery application form to be included in the lottery by the deadline.

All Weighted Lottery Applicants must also provide proof of income by the deadline date.

All applications received prior to the deadline date will be eligible for participation in the admissions lottery.

Families who are applying for more than one child must enter an application for each child for their respective grade.

How to Apply
WEIGHTED LOTTERY
Elysian offers a Weighted Lottery for qualifying applicants, allowing low-income families to enter their child’s name three times, increasing their chances of selection.
To apply for the Weighted Lottery:

Indicate on the application that you are applying for the Weighted Lottery.

Specify the type of assistance you are currently receiving.
Proof of assistance must be provided to the Enrollment Coordinator before the application deadline.
All proof is confidential and can be emailed to enrollment2026@ecsnj.org.
LOTTERY PREFERENCE

Siblings of students currently enrolled.

In-district applicants (Hoboken) – proof of residency is required.

Out-of-district applicants – students accepted only after Hoboken waitlist is exhausted.
In accordance with New Jersey Law, Elysian Charter gives preference to applicants in the following order:
Once your application is reviewed, you will receive a confirmation email. Please verify your child’s grade and residency information, and report any errors to enrollment2026@ecsnj.org before the submission deadline.
It is the applicant's responsibility to notify Elysian if the confirmation email is not received. Contact enrollment2026@ecsnj.org for assistance.
Confirmation of Application
WAitlist & Lottery Results
Once all seats are filled through the lottery, applicants are placed on the waitlist. Any applications submitted after the deadline are added to the end of the waitlist in the order received. The waitlist remains active for the school year for which the student has applied. The State Department of Education requires charter schools to reset waitlists each school year.
