Support Elysian

As a charter school, Elysian has specific financial challenges. The State of New Jersey does not assist charter schools with building or maintaining school facilities. And so, as compared with the Hoboken public schools, on average, Elysian receives 35% less funding per student. This financial gap must be filled to maintain educational quality for its 288 students.

FRIENDS OF ELYSIAN

In 1997, Elysian Charter School of Hoboken was founded as one of New Jersey’s first charter schools. Shortly after, the Friends of Elysian Charter School, a 501(c)(3) organization, was created to raise funds for the school.

Friends of Elysian has supported facilities improvements, technology, arts, school trips, athletics, and cultural events. A recent capital campaign helped fund the school’s 2015 move and secured financial stability.

Friends' funding now covers facility costs, vital programs, and PTSO initiatives, including the book fair, Halloween events, and teacher appreciation.
